My Experience at Moti Kund
As soon as I entered Moti Kund Temple, a melodious flute was playing. Radha-Krishna idols were so beautifully smiling at me. The darshan here was extremely soothing and serene. I also spoke to the Pandit Ji and some localities belonging to Nandgaon regarding the history behind this temple, which you will read further in this blog.
The Moti Sown By Kanha Can Still Be Seen Around
It is said that when Radha-Krishna were to be married, Radha’s father, Vrishbhan Ji, sent some garlands of pearls. Nand Ji and his family were “gwala” compared to Vrishbhan Ji, who was a king. Yashoda Maiya and Nand Baba were in a fix. They knew it wouldn’t be possible for them to send gifts worth the same amount to Radha. Soon after Kanha found this out, he took the pearl garlands and sowed them on the ground. The next morning, Nand Baba and Yashoda Maiya were tensed as the garlands were nowhere to be found, and it was already time for them to send the omen to Radha. Subsequently, they found out that Kanha had sown the moti, and now they can happily send this cart full of pearls to Radha.
As the pearls were planted, there are trees where you can still see the pearls. The trees that are found near Moti Kund still have pearls attached to them. To be able to see it is God’s grace, as it is Krishna’s creation.

Pavan Sarovar Experience
I was really excited to bathe in the Pavan Sarovar. I had heard that bathing in the Pavan Sarovar, makes us ‘pavan’, or pure, too. It is said that, before going anywhere else, we should first bathe in this way and then take darshan. I took a walk that was about 10 minutes from Moti Kund. From here, I went up to the Pavana-Bihari temple. The next closest temple here is Nand Bhavan.
Story of Pavana Sarovar
Nand Baba was about to leave to bathe in the holy waters of the Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati, but Shri Krishna told him to leave the next day on the occasion of Akshaya Tritya. The next morning, Nand Maharaj saw a man bathing in the Sarovar. When asked about his whereabouts, Nand Baba found out that the king of Tirthas, Prayagraj, was there. He who helps other pilgrims get rid of their sins has come here to bathe in the holy water of Pavan Lake. Seeing this, Nand Ji realised that he did not need to go anywhere else, as he could bathe in the Sarovar and wash away all of his sins.

Location
As mentioned in the last blog regarding Aaseshwar Mahadev Temple, if you are traveling via road, there are two routes that you can take: Kosi Kalan or Chhata. Generally, as you may know, most travelers prefer starting from Mathura, where public transport is easily accessible. Mathura Railway Station is about 55 km from Nandgaon. Once you are in Nandgaon, you can even choose to walk around to visit all these popular temples and kunds that are around.
Based on my experience, I would strongly suggest all the others traveling here, actually, take a break from the rest of the world and not to have a time crunch. There are so many more temples and places which hold our strong Indian history, which you can visit.
