Kirti Mandir is a holy place situated in Barsana Dham, Mathura district, Uttar Pradesh. Goddess Shri Radha Rani abodes in Barsana Dham. Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj established the Kirti Mandir. This temple is dedicated to Shri Radha Rani Ji’s mother, Kirti Ma. It took about 13 years to build this temple, and on February 11, 2019, darshan for the general public began, while it was inaugurated on February 10, 2019, on the occasion of Vasant Panchami.

The Maha Aarti here is the most charming, both in the morning and evening, however, the view at night is mesmerising. The maha aarti of Goddess Shri Radha Rani Ji is one of the greatest and most beautiful. As soon as the main door opens, there are pictures of Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj at the sides of the room and a chandelier in the center of the hall. Moving straight from the main door are the deities, with Shri Radha Rani Ji in her mother, Kirti Maiya’s, lap, sitting on a throne.

This is the only temple of its kind, with Shri Radha Ji sitting in her mother’s lap. They used Italian marble in constructing this temple. The architecture is very much like Prem Mandir. The designs are very intricate, just like most other temples in India. It covers an area of 12000 square feet.

Location:

It is situated near Rangeeli Mahal, on the main road from Kosi Kalan to Govardhan in Barsana (Pincode – 281405)

Railway: The closest route is Mathura Railway Station.

Airport: The nearest airport is Indira Gandhi International Airport.

Bus: There are numerous buses along this route. From Mathura to Barsana via Govardhan or Kosi. For devotees traveling from Vrindavan or Mathura, buses are easily available, including UPSRTC buses.

Kirti Mandir During Festivals:

Holi and Vasant Panchami are two of the most celebrated festivals here. Devotees from all over the country prefer visiting the temple during this time. Holi is the festival that honours and celebrates Shri Radha Rani and Shri Krishna’s love.

Barsana is a holy place and also the birthplace of Shri Radha Rani Ji. This temple has numerous names, such as Shri Ladli Maharaj Temple, Shri Ji Temple, or Barsana Temple.

Radha Rani Temple Information (Ladli Ji Maharaj Temple)

Shri Radha Rani was born on the 8th day of the bright fortnight, and on this day the maha aarti that takes place is the most auspicious and special. 56 different types of bhog are prepared for Shri Radha Ji.  Although I did not visit the temple on that day, the aarti and the aura overall were quite pleasant. As soon as I entered and until I stepped out, my mind was extremely relaxed with the peace and positivity that filled these walls. To all the Radha Krishna devotees out there, I strongly suggest visiting Barsana’s Laadli temple at least once in your lifetime. Getting the darshan of Shri Radha Krishna is one of the most peaceful experiences. Radha Ji was dressed so beautifully that I couldn’t take my eyes off the deities.

My Experience at Radha Rani Temple Barsana

I recently visited the Shri Radha Rani Temple in Barsana, Mathura. This temple is the most visited pilgrimage site in Barsana. As I began my journey from Mathura, which was about 50 km from here. I could hear peaceful music with flute and dhol as I climbed about 225 stairs for the darshan. It is about 250 meters high. The experience of the scenery from the hill of the entire Barsana was enchanting. The crowd here was comparatively larger than that at Kirti Mata Temple

How to Reach the Barsana Temple

The best option, which even I opted for, was to first reach Mathura. As a tourist, you can easily travel from Mathura to all the nearby pilgrimage sites.

Mathura has railways as well as buses connecting it.

The nearby airports to the temple are Delhi Airport/Indira Gandhi International Airport, located about 150 km away, and Agra airport which is about 107 km away.

Some of the nearby places that you can travel to and from are:

Nandgaon to Barsana is about 10 km away, and you can easily travel by bus.

Vrindavan to Barsana is about 43 km away, there are two ways to reach here: the first route is via Chatrika mode to Govardhan and the second route is via Chhata.

Some of the most celebrated festivals are Radhashtmi, Janamashtmi, Lathmar Holi, Holi, Sharad Poornima, and Kartik Poornima.

What is The Best Time to Visit the Temple?

The best time to visit Shri Radha Rani temple is during Holi and Radhashtmi. The entire Barsana is filled with immense celebration and joy on these occasions.

Did you Know…

  • Shri Radha Ji was born exactly 15 days after Shri Krishna’s birth on Janamashtmi. On this day the entire temple is decorated with flowers.
  • Shri Ji Temple was established 400 years ago by king Veer Singh in 1675.
  • The red and white stones used to build the temple symbolize the love between Shri Krishna and Shri Radha.
  • This temple is a great spot to get a view of the entire Barsana as it is situated at peak of the hill.
