Charan Pahadi Nandgaon History
Bal Krishna was once playing his flute to call all the cows to graze, and the sound of the flute was so melodious that the entire hill melted. Shri Krishna’s foot impressions are still there. Not just that, but the hills nearby also melted. Moreover, it is said that the Gopis’ footprints on the other hills nearby were also manifested.
These footprints are approximately 5000 years old and are still present. Some of the other attractive places that you can visit around are Nand Bhavan, Pavan Sarovar, Moti Kund, and Aaseshwar Mahadev Temple.

Vrinda Devi Mandir History, Facts, and Timings
Vrinda Devi is the one who manages all the pass times of Shri Radha Rani and Shri Krishna. It is said that the first meeting of Shri Radha-Krishna in a day, is behind this temple, in the Gupt Kund. Once Radha-Krishn enter this place, the doors open, and Vrinda Devi creates a kunj where Radha-Krishn are in the center and the other sakis and sakhas are around them. It is said that the 1st yogapeeth of Radha Krishna is here between 07:00 and 08:24. This belief is so strong among the locals and other devotees that even today, Radha Rani and Shri Krishna meet here.
Moreover, Vrinda Devi has a parrot named Daksh, which flies around and gives Devi details about what is going on in Braj. Vrinda Devi holds a lotus in one hand while blessing the ones in the kunj with the other hand, with Daksh on top of the lotus.

My Experience
When I reached Nandgaon, I didn’t even plan to visit Vrinda Devi Mandir, as I did not know about its history. When I interacted with some locals, I was amazed by all their stories. All this time, I thought it was Shri Krishna who had managed all the meetings of the pass times, it was very interesting to find out that Vrinda Devi took care of these events. I could sense and imagine the presence of the Lord.
Location of Charan Pahadi and Vrinda Devi Mandir
Vrinda Devi Mandir and Charan Pahadi are both located in Nandgaon and are about 1.5 km from Nand Bhavan. Kirti Temple in Barsana is about 10 km from here.
Although driving and visiting Braj would be the best option, there are many taxis, autos, and buses available to travel. When you are traveling in your own vehicle there is no time limit, and you can cover many more historical sites and temples in Braj.
Best Time to Visit
The best time to visit Nandgaon and all the temples, kunds, and hills is throughout the year, but Holi would be one of the best occasions to be in Braj.
